Hang
Gliding School

Learn to
fly with the best hang gliding school in the uk.
The Peak
District Hang Gliding Centre is the longest established hang gliding
school in the UK.
Hang gliding
is exhilarating and exciting but once professionally trained to fly a
modern glider the risks are comparable to horse riding or skiing. The
gliders themselves are extremely strong - tested to a minimum of 6G where
as a commercial airliner's wings will creak a bit at only 3G (not to worry
though unless your pilot decides to complete a loop on your next trip
to the Canaries!) We are a BHPA registered school and I have personally
been flying and teaching since 1978. So, what is Hang Gliding?
Look at
our school and learn to fly - We have an established tradition of safe,
efficient training - "One of the worlds best hang gliding schools,
which is run on the principle of safety first, second and last"
James Pettigrew of the Sunday Mirror 1976.
Take a
look at our website for more information where we will try to answer
your questions and learn to fly in the uk now. Hang Gliding is one of
the most exciting air sports available at the price.
Remember
the cost's involved for hang gliding training are low when compared
to other types of flight training.
Hang Gliding
is not as difficult as it may first appear.. At our hang gliding school
We employ all the latest methods of training available to the student
and we will walk you through the process of attaining your license professionally.
The Peak
District hang gliding school (Peak District Hang Gliding Centre) have
taught thousands of doubters (and believers!) to take off since 1974
- landing however is a different matter and although no one is still
up there since the seventies it is common for early flights to last
for what seems like
hours.
